Welcome to Odense
- an atmospheric city in the heart of Denmark on the green island Funen. With its 185,000 inhabitants Odense is the third largest city in Denmark. the city is primarily known as the birth city of the great writer og fairytales, Hans Christian Andersen. But it can tell many more stories.
The old medieval city is rich on nature, culture and history. Through the city Odense River runs as a source of beautiful experiences in nature. Along the river bicycle paths invite you to take a long walk, bike ride or run. All over the city old buildings, monasteries and the Cathedral tell the story of a city with a rich historic inheritage.
In the pedestrian street you find the shops and the cafés - the throbbing life of the town. Here you find small atmospheric streets, alleys and backyards. You find sculptures and beautiful urban design.
Moreover Odense is known as the National cycling City. Both older and young people ride their bikes all over the city.
